こんにちは、IICOkidsこども英語講師のるめさです。今回は、7月のIICOkidsこども英語レッスンの様子をご紹介します♪
7月19日のレッスンでは、音楽や絵本、工作などを取り入れながら、楽しく英語に触れました。
まずは、Greeting Songからスタート！
歌に合わせて自己紹介をしたり、体を動かしたりしながら、みんなで楽しくレッスンを始めました…………..
Report for Lesson on July 19th
- What we did in the lesson
Today we held an English lesson for children using music, games, picture books, and a craft activity. We started with a greeting song where the children introduced themselves, sang together, and moved their bodies.
Next, we had story time with the picture books “The Goldfish Has Escaped” and “Elephant Blue.” The children looked carefully for the hidden goldfish and listened to the stories while answering simple questions.
At the end of the lesson, the children made a Goldfish Fan by coloring, gluing, and decorating it with stickers and tape. We finished with a goodbye song and thanked everyone for joining the lesson.
- What I taught the students
The goal of this lesson was to help children learn English through songs, stories, games, and crafts.
The main focus was on:
Greetings: “Hello,” “What’s your name?”
Animals: goldfish, elephant
Simple vocabulary: goldfish, fan, water
Action words: look, color, glue, decorate
Following simple English instructions
I encouraged the children to repeat English words, answer simple questions, and participate actively in each activity.
- How did I make it easy to understand?
I used simple English, gestures, repetition, and demonstrations before each activity. Pictures and hand movements helped the children understand the vocabulary more easily.
During story time, I pointed to the illustrations and asked easy questions to keep the children involved.
During the craft activity, I explained each step slowly and demonstrated what to do before the children started. I also helped them when necessary.
Throughout the lesson, I smiled, maintained eye contact, and stayed at the children’s eye level to make communication easier and more comfortable.
- The students’ favourite part
The children especially enjoyed searching for the hidden goldfish in the picture book. They were excited to find the goldfish and answer questions about the story.
They also had a lot of fun making and decorating their own Goldfish Fans with colors, stickers, and tape.
- My favourite part
My favourite part of the lesson was watching the children become excited during story time and the craft activity.
They were very happy when they found the hidden goldfish and proudly showed their finished Goldfish Fans at the end of the lesson.
